Plaza Mayor

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía

An extensive and permanent collection of Spanish modern and contemporary art, as well as an interesting itinerary of exhibits. The museum expansion is an ambitious project carried out by Jean Nouvel.

Museo Thyssen Bornemisza

Located in the Palacio de Villahermosa (S.XIX), it was remodelled by the architect Rafael Moneo to house an impressive painting collection assembled by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family, spanning more than two generations.
